Barred Owl Returns

We have had a night visitor this past week. I was able to capture some video of it as it hunted from the upper platform.

Juvenile Bald Eagle

Juvenile Bald Eagle - Came upon this gorgeous Juvenile while driving home last week. Of course I had to yell to Guy to pull over and while it’s not a perfect shot, wishing it was all in focus but I had no time to switch settings I am actually loving the side view as it flies away after I spooked it trying to sneak around the car.

Nesting

Building continued throughout the hour or so we watched this Red-shoulder.

Nesting Season Has Started

Nest building has begun for this Red-shouldered Hawk at Huntley Meadow Park, Fairfax VA.   

Richmond Flood Wall Kestrel

The kestrel was out about posing yesterday. Pretty sure this is the closest I will ever get to one. He did not care, more interested in the insects below the wall than me.

Vultures of Dutch Gap

t appears these two Black Vultures were having quite the conversation. We were in a car not 50 feet from them and they did not move or even look at us. Very strange for this breed.
